About Me
Dr. Vermillion received his undergraduate degree with high honors from Baylor University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a presidential scholar. He graduated with honors from Baylor College of Medicine, where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and a presidential scholar. He completed his general surgery residency at Scott & White Hospital/Texas A&M HSC. Dr. Vermillion completed his trauma fellowship at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland where he was named the outstanding fellow. He was the trauma director and assistant professor at Texas A&M before coming to Montgomery, Alabama.
Dr. Vermillion has served as the Director of Trauma at Baptist South since June of 2005. He is double board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care. Elective surgical interests include laparoscopic GI surgery, complex abdominal hernia repairs and endocrine surgery.
