Mammography

Mammography Services at Baptist Health

With an estimated two million women in the U.S. receiving a diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer, all women should make breast health a priority. Early detection is key for a greater chance of survival from breast cancer.

Baptist Breast Health Center and Montgomery Breast Center are both designated Breast Imaging Centers of Excellence by the American College of Radiology. Both offer digital mammography, the newest, state-of-the-art digital imaging technology, providing increased detection rates and features specifically designed for your comfort. Our knowledgeable staff will ensure that you receive personalized care tailored to your specific circumstances.

Advanced Technology for Early Detection and Diagnosis

Chances are, you’ve been touched by breast cancer—through your mom, sister, aunt, another close relative or good friend—or maybe even yourself. You know the impact it has not only on the patient but the entire family. Baptist Health offers many breast imaging options, including the most advanced digital mammography available along with Tomosynthesis/3D mammograms to detect breast cancer in its earliest, most treatable stages.

  • To create a 3D mammogram, your technologist takes several low-dose images from different angles around the breast. A conventional mammogram creates a two-dimensional image of the breast from two X-ray images of each breast. If your insurance will not cover a 3D mammogram, you can request it for an additional $60 fee.
  • Physicians can enhance, magnify or manipulate digital mammograms for further evaluation. Your mammogram will be read three times—twice by radiologists along with computer-aided detection—to give you additional peace of mind.
