About Me

Dr. Ana Coronado-Reyna received her medical degree from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, the leading biomedical teaching and research institution in Lima, Peru. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York, and a fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama.

Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, she is a proud member of the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, the Latin American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Coronado-Reyna has received numerous awards and honors such as the UAB Heersink School of Medicine’s Hospital Appreciation Award, SUNY’s COVID Certification, and fellowship and travel scholarships during medical school in recognition of her strong leadership skills and high academic performance.

With a passion for medicine since childhood, Dr. Coronado-Reyna’s clinical interests and procedures include: Pediatric Gastrointestinal Conditions; Liver Diseases such as Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease, Cholestasis, Nutrition Disorders, Upper Endoscopies, Colonoscopies, Polypectomies, and Foreign Body Extractions, among others.

A newlywed, Dr. Coronado-Reyna enjoys spending time with her husband who is a Neurovascular Neurologist, as well as hiking, running and attending ballet recitals. Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake and Nutcracker are her favorite performances.

Dr. Coronado-Reyna is inspired by the quote: "Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible."-St. Francis of Assisi. She looks forward to serving pediatric patients in Central Alabama and is now accepting referrals.
