About Me
Dr. Walter Gribben received his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama. He completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. After residency graduation, he served as an attending physician in the Hospital Medicine division at Barnes Jewish Hospital, in St. Louis, Missouri, where he also taught as an Instructor at the Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. He subsequently moved to Southern California to pursue additional subspecialty training. He completed his Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. Gribben is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and in Pulmonary Disease. His clinical interests include medical education, non-invasive ventilation, airway management, and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS).
A distinguished member of the American College of Chest Physicians and the Gold Humanism Honor Society, Dr. Gribben is also a proud recipient of the Barnes Jewish Hospital Friends of Nursing Award.
Dr. Gribben is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying paddle boarding, kayaking, and playing golf. He and his wife, Jen, also enjoy spending time together soaking up the beautiful views of the Gulf of Mexico from Alabama and Florida beaches.
