Outpatient Surgery
Today, not all surgeries require you to pack an overnight bag. Nearly two-thirds of all operations are performed in outpatient facilities.
Outpatient surgery provides patients with the convenience and comfort of recovering at home and can cost less.
Emergency Surgery Services
We also provide emergency surgical services and acute and transitional care. Our goal is to help you return to a productive life promptly. Our team includes an excellent nursing and administrative staff to ensure our patients receive personalized care throughout the surgical process. Baptist Medical Center South
The Surgery Department consists of 20 operating rooms where combined, nearly 9,000 people are operated on each year. The main OR is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The Surgery Department performs most procedures, in virtually every surgical specialty. Our surgeons provide excellent surgical care to patients, and our staff is known throughout the community for their compassionate and caring attitudes.
Our vascular suite is state-of-the-art, performing the most advanced vascular procedures. The Center for Advanced Surgery is known for its cutting-edge surgical procedures, allowing patients to return home quickly. The Joint Center, an innovative surgical center in a multi-million dollar facility, utilizes the latest technology including the MAKO robot for joint replacements and expert surgeons.
Baptist Medical Center East
Baptist Medical Center East has six operating rooms and operates on nearly 5,000 people every year. Both inpatient and outpatient surgeries are performed. Types of surgeries include robotic general surgery, cystoscopy, otolaryngology (ENT), plastic surgery, orthopaedics, gastroenterology, gynecology, vascular, oral, podiatry, and Urology specialties. Our excellent staff of registered nurses and technical personnel, along with the excellent staff of surgeons, work hand-in-hand with radiologists, emergency teams, laboratory and pharmacy staff to provide complete patient care.
Baptist East opened its Center for Robotic Surgery more than a decade ago and has been home to thousands of successful cases since then. Known for excellent patient satisfaction, we offer minimally invasive surgery in several specialties utilizing the da Vinci Surgical System. With this technology, surgeons operate through just a few small incisions. The da Vinci System features a magnified 3D high-definition vision system and tiny wristed instruments that bend and rotate far more than the human hand. As a result, da Vinci enables your surgeon to operate with enhanced vision, precision and control.
Prattville Baptist Hospital
Prattville Baptist Hospital provides outpatient surgical services using modern state-of-the-art technology in four primary specialties including general surgery, gastroenterology, podiatry and ophthalmology. Our experienced and knowledgeable staff is dedicated to providing high-quality care in a convenient, warm and friendly environment.
Montgomery Surgical Center
Montgomery Surgery Center offers patients a safe and comfortable environment to receive surgical care. Our team, volunteers and physicians strive to provide same-day care to its patients in a number of specialties. Montgomery Surgical Center is a multi-specialty facility offering general surgery, gastroenterology, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, otolaryngology (ENT), plastics and pain management procedures.
The center houses 16 pre-operative bays, eight operating rooms, two endoscopy rooms, 19 recovery bays, a business office and waiting areas. The center averages 950 patients per month in addition to several doctor’s offices. The Montgomery Surgical Center is fully accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
