Rotations

Pharmacy Residency Program Core Rotations

Our program provides flexibility to select learning experiences that will help foster the residents’ career goals. The residency program director will work with the residents to create an individualized schedule for each resident based on interests and desired experiences. Rotations are designed to provide an evidence-based experience and are generally 4-5 weeks in length. The resident will be required to fulfill the curriculum requirements below.

  • Orientation (6 weeks)
  • Critical Care I
  • Critical Care II
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Infectious Diseases
  • Internal Medicine
  • Midyear Admin

Elective Rotations

Elective rotations will be scheduled and designed to fit the interests of the resident. The resident may pick up to 3 elective rotations which are 4-5 weeks long to complete their 9 rotation schedule.

  • Acute Care - Cardiology/Nephrology
  • Acute Care - General Medicine
  • Antimicrobial Stewardship
  • Enterprise
  • Oncology
  • Psychiatric Medicine
  • Transitions of Care
  • Trauma/Surgery
  • Potential to create a rotation

Longitudinal Rotations

Longitudinal rotations are required experiences which are 10-12 months long and will be evaluated upon during the course of the residency year.

Teaching Opportunities

  • Co-precept 4th year pharmacy student
  • Instruct a variety of resident and attending physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers using a range of methods
  • Participate in didactic and facilitation courses through a school of pharmacy
  • Complete an optional ACPE-accredited teaching certificate program
