Manual therapy is a hands-on style of occupational or physical therapy that involves evaluating and treating the musculoskeletal system for soft tissue and joint restrictions.
At Baptist Medical Center South, our clinicians assess whether the soft tissues and joints have hypo- (restricted) or hyper- (over-extended) mobility. Restrictions may be felt in the soft tissues and/or the joints. Sometimes both the soft tissue and joint are involved. This is why it takes a trained physical therapist to properly evaluate both.
